Quote of the day

"A life without purpose is a languid, drifting thing;Every day we ought to review our purpose, saying to ourselves: This day let me make a sound beginning, for what we have hitherto done is naught!"-- Thomas A. Kempis

If only I was more heavenly minded! I would do so much more and be less subject to the worries and anxieties of life. What is my purpose in this life? I know the answer, "to glorify God and enjoy Him forever." But how do I do that where I am at? By teaching my children, cleaning the house, feeding the family healthy foods (let's not forget delicious desserts!), going shopping, changing diapers, washing and folding laundry (folding when I can), paying bills, making important phone calls, visiting family, entertaining guests, mowing the lawn, raking the leaves, ect. No wonder I'm so tired all the time! It's so easy, though, to get caught up in the every day tasks, and not think about how what I'm doing IS glorifying God, if I do it with the right attitude. So often I think, "oh, I wish I could do this or that, then I'd really be making a difference in people's lives." But I need to be more content to serve God where I'm at and make the most of it. I can and WILL have a huge impact on the lives of my children, who will impact others. What a mission field! Food for much thought.
